GICIS partners with the Association of British Investigators

We have some exciting news for you at Focus Training UK. We are happy to announce that the Global Institute of Cyber, Intelligence and Security (GICIS) has just signed a new partnership with the Association of British Investigators (ABI) and this means the quality of security, fraud and investigative training should be incomparable from now on.

The new partnership will lead to the development of accredited courses for professional investigative training and related areas at GICIS, as well as further enhancing the development and delivery of the services of both parties.

GICIS was founded to help companies prepare for multi-faceted challenges posed by threats such as crime, cyber-insecurity and terrorism to society.  They specialise in partnering with subject matter experts and work alongside awarding bodies, aiming to provide training and education that meets knowledge and skills requirements.

The ABI are the longest established organisation representing professional private investigators in the UK, beginning way back in 1913. Now recognised as the premier professional body for private investigators, membership with the ABI is widely heralded for its integrity and consistently maintained high standards.

What does this mean for the Fraud and Investigation Industry?

By working together, the two organisations will use their combined skills and knowledge in the industry to further improve the standard of service to global clients, such as businesses seeking professional training and education in aspects of fraud and security intelligence.

Dr Martin Wright, Academic Director of the Global Institute of Cyber, Intelligence & Security (GICIS), said: ‘The provision of high-quality education and training in association with the ABI Academy will bring very real benefits to the current and future members of the Association.’

He added: ‘We look forward to working with the Academy in developing vocational, professional and award-bearing programmes for an international audience that supports the wider development of the ABI.’

Alan Blaney, Chairman of the Association of British Investigators Academy (ABI) and our MD at Focus Training, said: “Our relationship serves to extend our influence and that of the international investigative community by offering quality academic studies alongside the unparalleled experience and advice of the ABI.”

The ABI only admits members after stringent vetting, and expects them to uphold its reputation of professionalism, as ethical role models of the investigative world.

Here at Focus Training we’re thrilled by the recent developments and we look forward to seeing the benefits of this new partnership in the future.
